Anyone else going to Carrington's LPN Program in Portland, Oregon? I have been accepted and am starting July 2, 2012. I'd love to meet some fellow classmates or here from some who have already gone through their program. I am so excited and can't wait to start!

No I haven't. That's awesome. Will they have a bridge program for LPN to RN?

The new ADN program is a 24 month program that will be offered twice a year, June and December. There are no pre-reqs required. you do need to submit an app with 2 essays and take the TEAS exam. I believe if you have your LPN you are able to start the second year of the program there. I am currently studying to take my TEAS in June. I am looking at their second start date. I was recently accepted into Concordes LPN program but when I heard about Sumners new RN program I knew I had to apply since my ultimate goal has always been to be an RN. They have all the info on their website. The coursework looks hectic but amazing They are offering a morning class and an evening class as well. They partner up with all the hospitals in Portland for your clinicals, so no need to travel far. Let me know if you want more info or if you plan to apply. I already met one other girl on this website who is also applying

I'm going to stick with Carrington since I am already enrolled and it is quite a bit closer for me, but I will definitely be looking into their bridge option in the future. Thanks for the info and good luck with your application and exams.

I went to Valley Medical College now called Institute of Technology(in Salem) and it was 11 months long. I had no life. Very fast paced and my last term I had six classes plus clinical's, I wanted to die. The program had only four terms.

I requested info from Sumner inquiring about an LPN to RN bridge and they told me they are putting me on a list to get back to me for info. I also looked on the Oregon State Board of Nursing and Sumner's RN program is still under inital approval status. :-/
