HI I have called about a program here in connecticut called stone academy. They are offering a 22 month evening program it is 2 evening per week 5-10 and all day on Saturday for clinicals. Just wondering if anyone knows how much it cost since they wouldn't tell me on the phone:uhoh3: So I am guessing it is expensive......

I went to stone acadamy for their open house and blieve me it aisn't easy to get into their program as you think my best suggestion is to go to NETI it's better course and they also have an evenning program but, go to the New Britian Campus instead of the Hamdam on the reason I'm telling you this is because I had a friend that just recently graduated from the NETI at Hamdam campus and she inform us that that the LPN evennign program is mostly learned on your own not the same as the LPN Program located at New Britian...take my advice good luck

more info please for hamden.....this is NETI, right? Thanks Do you work in the day? I'm just trying to figure out how hard/challenging it would be to keep my current day job and than go to school evenings.....How difficult is it? How are the clinicals-location etc. is needed!!! How much homework is required? Thanks so much

yes, NETI hamden (evenings-22 mo.).

Extremely difficult...no I don't work at all..my kids are in school then I go in the evening..I study all day & still it's quite a challange.Lots's of studying..clinicals are Waterbury hosp. cedar lane some wallingford/cheshire/locations & there is a strick time schedule...can't be late & onloy 2 clinical absent. /module-or your OUT!! CAt TOOLS for clinical homework are very diff. & time consum. for many of us. Hope This Helps

thanks for responding so quickly! the evening program won't work for me:o i live in fairfield-the clinicals are toooooooo far from here! i am taking an entrance exam for the state vocational schools next month. i've been looking for a backup program since i heard they are hard to get into as so many people apply! i wish the community colleges offered lpn programs!

shelton evening NETI is beginning soon too!

HI I graduated from NETI in Hamden in Dec. It was a great program, lots of studying, very intense program. I attended the day program. I couldn't imagine going to school at night. I guess I'm a day person, am now working days and am loving nursing. Be prepared for lots of long hours of study and clinicals but it prepares you for what you want to be! Good luck.

I attend Stone for their LPN program. It is rushed, non-structured, very unorganized program. There are NO lab hours, because the school only has a lab used by PCA students. We are 10 months in (3 months from graduating) and we are still doing only AM care in long term care facilities. Honestly save your money and go to a different school. At this school, there is a constant teacher turnover. We lost 3 teachers our first month *that should have been the sign*

It is exactly the same over at NETI (hamden)...they aren't there for you & the director only arrived the last month of classes to see what all the hipe was that was floating around...lawsuits etc. The original director dropped us in the end & nobody knew what was even occuring w/ us. We had students being very "close" to instructors & they had a bit of an inside lead to what wa occuring but, all in all it sounds like the 2 schools are pretty much the same in that requards...I found the evening instructors were only part-time & used NETI as a extra buck ($40/hour)....

The day instructors are totally different> I would suggest days NOT EVENINGS! Be preparred for 100% devotion or you won't make it. I graduated one of the top in my class and all the other students were only a few points behind be....so that goes to show you that everyone had to commit 100%. The schood put a cap off of 75% for mods 2-5...if you end the module below 75% they dismiss you..late for clinicalsor abscent more than twice/module-your out! Very strict!!!!!!!!!!!!!! unbelievable crazy and scary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I swore I would never recomend the place but, maybe it changed now that there is better mgmt. I don't know if you know it but they were bought out by Lincoln College last year....they don't seem to take any funny business!!!! MOst all stone instructors were originally at NETI...bad blood there!

I hear from nurses from the state tech. schools that they did well & it was more relaxed. That it what is needed....at NETI they just speed talk (50 minutes/chapter & it can be 10 pages or 30 pages/chapter) spped reading is what they did...& you leave therwe lecture & have to go home & re-readf the entire lecture all over again & try to make sense of it. PM me w/ other ? There it just too much to put down here. good luck
