Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

Good evening. I got my acceptance letter for the ADN program yesterday. My best friend was excited upon learning of her acceptance letter with tears of excitement. I'm happy for her! But I on the other hand, am not excited. Strange, weird you may say. See the truth is I really don't know if I'm ready to take this next step in nursing. Please don't be critical of my statement. Life and situations are different for everyone. Limited Finances for is one reason and the other is confidence. Everybody has their opinion family and friends on what is best for me!! Trying to decide my life!! Honestly I really leaning towards declining the acceptance. Just need to vent because no one is really concerned about how I feel!!!

only do this if u are 100% ready, dont worry about what others think because this will be ur sacrifice, its hard as h***, so if ur not ready its okay because i can assure u that u will know when the time is right for you, good luck

I think you should get a pen and paper and write your pros and cons of accepting it based on your situation. Set goals for yourself look at them everyday write them as much as you need to. Don't put all your focus on failing, focus on winning!

@steffuturelpn and mz. Snuggly1 thanks for the great advice!! I only have a small time frame to decide and I have been very emotional about this situation. I will definitely get that pen and paper n think really hard about this. I have been an LPN for over 10 yrs but possibly stepping into the role of an RN will be something completely different for me. I just pray I make the right decision because I can't give everybody what they want!!

Thanks for the advice and words of encouragement!!

@1hotnurse08.....No problem! and another thing how can you be afraid of something that you already know about? Being a nurse for that long period of time I don't think it would be hard on you! If you pass one test you can pass another! You probly know it like the back of your hand! :twocents: I see a lot in you eventhough I'm on the outside looking in!!
