Soon to graduate LPN-Employer keep as MNA?

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

I am currently working at an assisted living facility as an LNA and wil graduate from nursing school w/my LPN soon. My current employer has offered to keep me on as an MNA so I can get experience passing meds once I graduate. It sounded like a good opportunity but others have said they would not do this?

Do you think their offer is appropriate? We all know experience talks and in LTC, LPN's need experience since they are managers. Others have mentioned that they will be taking advantage of me since I have a lisence and I'm no longer an assistant.... I'm torn and I'm trying to learn my options for when the time comes.

Also, is anyone familar with MNA salary? Or an LPN in LTC?
