Nyc Wages

I"m waiting to start the LPN school here in PA in august. My goal is to move to New York City where my best friend currently lives... can anyone tell me what the average LPN salary is in NYC, and am i going to be able to support myself? I know i'm not going to be driving a Benz, but i want to know if my goals of moving there next year are realistic, my LPN friend makes 25/hr here in PA but she works flex pool which has no benefits and no vacation or sick time most resources i use on the internet tell me that the average nurse in nyc only makes 35-40,000 a yr... how can that be right when my friend makes 50,000 here in a crappy little town in PA??? HELLPPPP:o
