Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

I have been an LPN for over 18 years and still love what I do. I am interested in doing something different in the nursing field besides passing meds all day. I had considered going back to school to get my RN degree, but I would start out making less as a new RN than I currently make now as an LPN with so much experience. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Would your LPN experience really not count?

:( Wow, what a shame.

What is more important to you? Are you willing to gain access to virtually any specialty in nursing by earning your RN license, or do you really want to keep pushing a med cart to keep your high pay rate?

What if the facility where you work has a change in management, and they decide to lay you off to hire "cheaper" nurses who start at the bottom of the pay scale? Things might be going well today, but they might change in the future.
