LSUHSC CARE Program Information

U.S.A. Louisiana

Published

Hi. I am applying for entry to LSU's CARE program for my accelerated BSN degree in August 2008. I am just getting ready to send my application off, and was wondering if anyone here has done this program, or is currently enrolled in it.

Mainly, I'm curious about the admissions standards. I have always been a very good student, and maintained above a 3.5 in college. I also have an advanced professional degree in another field. I am hoping these things will make me an attractive candidate for the school. I am curious how competitve the program is, especially for someone who is not a Louisiana resident.

Also, I'm wondering what the program is like. I know that it's got to be pretty intense if it wraps up all the nursing education into 18 months. What is a typical schedule like? How many hours a day and things like that?

I'm really excited about this opportunity, and looking forward to reading any responses here. Also, if anyone is currently applying as well, I'd love to connect with you so we can bite our nails together.

Whew!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I feel SO much better! :heartbeat

Alright, well the fact that you guys still haven't heard anything either makes me feel a little better. At least I know now that nothing got lost in the mail ;) And no, I haven't started on FAFSA yet either, I'm a pretty big procrastinator when it comes to that sort of thing

Haha! I'm glad I could help you out with my sloth-like qualities. :D

I'm also glad that other people haven't heard yet either. I was starting to get a little nervous. Does anyone have any idea when we should be hearing something?

When I saw her last summer, Mrs. P said letters would be mailed out in May.

(Hopefully, EAAAAARLY May! :D)

I'm so nervous, you guys! For me, I'm equally as scared about financial aid. I'd gotten into my dream school a few years ago, and couldn't afford it.

Are y'all from NOLA? I was born and raised there; now, living a couple hours away in Lafayette.

I hope it's early in May, too. I can't take much more of this waiting.

I'm worried, too, about financial aid, but I haven't been worrying too much about it, because I figured I'd save myself a lot of grief in case I don't get in. I honestly don't know how I'll be able to pay for it.

I actually live on the MS Gulf Coast, about an hour and a half from New Orleans.

Hey guys,

I called the admissions office today, and they told me that letters were sent out this past Friday and on Monday, so we should be finding out soon! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us, good luck!

Oh nooooooo. Now I'm really nervous. :uhoh21:

Best of luck to everyone who applied. :D

EEEEEEE!!

Okay, NOW the nervousness is setting in!!

I'll be sending happy thoughts and vibes for all of us! We've worked hard, and it's our time to shine!! Mail already passed here today, but I'll be checking on here every couple hours to see if you guys got anything!!

I didn't get in.

I'm pretty broken right now.

Good luck to you guys.

Sorry Peachy. I still don't know yet. Guess I might have the verdict when I get home today.

I'm sorry Peachy, that sucks :( Do you think you'll reapply?

I got in! I'm pretty excited, although now I just feel kind of guilty :( Did anyone else find anything out yet?

I didn't get a letter yesterday. Hopefully it will come today. I don't know how I'll make it through the whole day at work, wondering if it came. :uhoh21:

Congrats on your acceptance. :yeah:
