CNA

U.S.A. Louisiana

Hey everyone. I am currently in TN thinking about moving back home to Louisiana. I am thinking about doing a 5 week CNA program up here, but was wondering after I get certified how do I get licensed in La to work as a CNA? Like how does all of that work? I really want to try to stay in TN to do the CNA program as most in La near where I would live take way longer to complete. Also does it matter if you have worked before as a CNA? Like I am thinking about going to the CNA school and passing the test and then moving to La ASAP. Thanks for any input/adivce.

If you get CNA in TN and then decide to move:

You will have to first get the TN liscense then apply for repricocity to LA.

As a new CNA grad, work experence does not matter as you do not have to prove you

worked your mandatory 8 hours until one year.

In my understanding,,,you do not get a CNA "license", you get a certification. In my area, near New Orleans, many nursing homes offer CNA courses to work there, or you can go to a vocational school such as Louisiana Technical College. Good luck!
