Charity SON Spring 2014

U.S.A. Louisiana

Published

Hi! I noticed that there were a few people around the forums that were going to apply to Charity for spring of 2014. I was wondering if Charity would accept a HESI score that I took for LSU? LSU was my first choice and now it's Charity. I still plan on getting a BSN, but I'd like to get working as soon as possible. Any advice on the HESI score? I plan on giving them a call, but I'm not exactly sure who I should speak with---or if I can get anyone on the phone.

Nomnica Congrats on passing! You're half way through. What team are you on this semester?[/quote']

Thanks! And Congrats to u too, ur almost done!! I am on Team 2 this semester, how about u? You are right that it totally depends on the type of learner u are, wether u will like the success books or not. My friends and I LOVE them, because they just get you in the mindset of the type of questions that are on the tests, and there are a TON of practice questions for each section. I know some people like the "reviews and rationales" series because of the breakdown of material prior to the questions section, but I found there weren't enough practice questions for me. They are worth looking into though if u don't like the success series.

I was wondering if any of you ladies worked while in level 1 ?

I didn't but I knew a couple of people who did and let me tell you they were stressed out. They could never stay late or come to school for a presentation with the teacher. Like if we had a check off for a skill and the teacher was free on a monday to help us they couldn't come because they had to work. Now if you have to work I'm sure you will be able to pass but you are going to have to work so much harder because you won't have as much time to study.. (This is just from my experience)

I was wondering if any of you ladies worked while in level 1 ?

I didn't, but two of my classmates that I study with have both worked full time jobs the entire time they've been in nursing school. One does really good, and the other not as good as she'd like.

Thanks! I don't know what team I'm on, but I have a strong feeling its team 1. Thinking about it, I've been on team 1 every semester....Lol. The coordinator hasn't given us any info besides clinical rotation and practicum schedule.

I also haven't worked, and I wouldn't recommend it unless you HAVE to. But as its been said it can be done. The people I know who have were very stressed and usually didn't do as well as they would have liked. Another thing to think about is once clinicals start you will have even less study time because of paperwork, so my advice would be to focus only on school as long as you can. If you are great at managing your time and don't procrastinate you may be fine, just depends.

Hi. Where do you go to schedule the clinicals with different hospitals? Thx

So how do you all feel about orientation?

I felt many emotions...excited, then nervous, then overwhelmed...then excited again. Ready to get it popping!

Well thats good! I would say to not let orientation scare you because what i noticed my first semester was that its not that bad! If you pay attention and study than you will do fine. Your pharm class is going to be your life saver. Everyone makes A's or a really high B in Pharm! You will do fine, and make sure that if you don't understand something, by the time you leave class.. you understand it!

Thank you soo much jay040806 that made me feel a lot better, because orientation most definitely had me a little scared...like what did I get myself into...lol.

Okay I survived level 1! I feel so good right now! Hard work really paid off...now on to the next.

I start in the fall and I'm extremely nervous.
