Hi! I noticed that there were a few people around the forums that were going to apply to Charity for spring of 2014. I was wondering if Charity would accept a HESI score that I took for LSU? LSU was my first choice and now it's Charity. I still plan on getting a BSN, but I'd like to get working as soon as possible. Any advice on the HESI score? I plan on giving them a call, but I'm not exactly sure who I should speak with---or if I can get anyone on the phone.
Hopefully everyone got who they wanted for clinical. As for lecture and pharmacology there are only 4 classes for each so everyone should be happy there... Don't let not getting your clinical site take your sights away from the ultimate goal, becoming an RN... clinicals are only 12 hours out of the week and the semester is only 4 months. You will more than likely be grateful for who you had for clinical, and it will be over before your finger uncramps from hitting the refresh button... then we can do it all over again for summer registration... It's all good!
Hey y'all I will be a Level 3 student starting this January, and I just wanted to give you a heads up. You will have to purchase texbooks every semester, it is not just that bundle for the whole 2 years. You will have a mental health rotation for Level 2 and Level 3 will be Maternal Child and Pediatrics rotations, which all have texts associated with them. Also I would recommend purchasing the "Davis Success Series" question books to practice test taking strategies. Nursing tests are unlike any others you have taken, these books have helped me the past 2 semesters and I will use them again for my upcoming semester. The one for Level 1 is called Fundamentals for success. I can't say enough about these books, my final grades have been 3 As and 2 Bs, and I truly believe they have helped. If y'all have any other questions I am more than happy to help as best I can. Congrats to everyone on getting in! One last piece of advice...Pace yourselves, as one of my instructors said "Nursing School is a marathon, NOT a sprint!"
Thank you so much for your advice...as you know we are we are just weeks away from the first day and emotions are high. I just received the recommended reading for the first semester and it's good to know that the information is actually helpful. Congrats to you for figuring it out and doing well!
They tell you that the ebooks are mandatory, but there is no one that is making sure that you have them. A lot of students had hard copies, but make sure that it is the correct edition because whats in your book may not be in the ebook or vice versa. It really is a personal preference. I barely used my ebooks at all this semester and I'm going to level II. In nursing school, you have to do what's best for you and not necessarily the whole class, if you understand what I mean.

I am so happy I got the clinical site and instructor I wanted. One less thing to worry about.
