CHARITY SON Spring 2013

U.S.A. Louisiana

Published

I just submitted my application to Charity School of Nursing for the Spring 2013 semester. The deadline is May 15, 2012. Has anyone else out there applied for this semester?

I did double check in the paper work and you have to take your class schedule to the bookstore and purchase it. Someone who started last semester said its around 40 bucks. This is getting expensive! lol

@ jewels2012 I would highly recommend getting a Littmann and if possible the highest level that you can afford. Not saying that you have to go all out with the electronic ones that are $400+ but the ones in the mid $100 are worth the extra money. I am also starting in the spring and have been in EMS for several years prior. Trust me your stethoscope is your main assessment tool and something you will be using for many years to come assuming you stay in this field. There is a very large difference b/w a $20 and $100 dollar stethoscope! Plus Littmanns' last forever and pretty much any part on them can be changed out so if it breaks you can repair it for less than $10 bucks. One of the nurses that I work with has had one for 25+ years and it is still going strong...

I just ordered the Littman Classic II SE on Amazon for $65... I saw it at the uniform shop for $85. Hopefully it will live up to all its promises! lol

ebook or text???

decisions, decisions

I plan on doing the ebooks since I have an Ipad. Ive always been a textbook person but the thing I like about doing the ebooks is that I dont have to carry around heavy textbooks!

I think I am going to go with the ebooks as well....And also get a voice recorder to record lectures!

I'm thinking ebooks and the main text if I can find it cheap

I'm torn. There are pros and cons for both! I plan on waiting to see if I can find out more info about it next week at orientation. BTW, this may be a silly question but do you guys know if we need to bring anything with us to orientation?? I was just thinking of bringing a notebook to keep handouts/notes in.

Im in Covington and would like to also meet up w the Northshore crew before orientation. I apparently cannot send private messages on here but my email is [email protected] to exchange phone numbers?
