successful clnc w/ADN only?

i am considering the v millazzo course. i know that she says that a bsn is not required, but does anyone know if it would be harder to market myself with only an ADN degree? i had planned to do an rn-bsn course, but that will take approx 18 months, and i don't know if i can remain in my current position that long w/out having a total breakdown. i have 8 years ltc- as a lpn, 2 years ER.

Yes, you can market very successfully as an ADN. ADN/BSN really has nothing to do with your ability to market yourself and recieve cases from the client-attorney. Clinical experience is a huge factor as well as a good working knowledge of nursing and medical law as applied to the LNC.

What I do suggest to the RN is to have at least 3-5 years clinical experience before actually seeking certification and/or starting the LNC career. Of course, I'm sure that depends upon the individual in some situations.

The RN who is thinking of other career avenues must be certain of the real reason to change. As an LNC, one must respect nursing and medical law and have the desire to spend countless hours pouring over medical records, conduct vast amounts of research; as well as a reach down for that endless supply of energy to market yourself unceasingly.

And, never refer to yourself as having "only an ADN degree". You are an RN just the same. Don't sell yourself short.
