- Oct 13, '08 by BBFRNWell, if you work per diem (as opposed to working a 13 week contract), you can get canceled. That can screw up your financial & time planning. I usually recommend signing up with 2 agencies. That way, if you get canceled at one, you can try to get a shift with the other one. The thing is, they usually only have to give you 2 hrs notice for a cancelation.

- Oct 13, '08 by BBFRNWell- it is a great option if you're in school (which you are, aren't you?). I have done it while in school, and it worked out very well. Better pay, too.
One good thing, is if you show that you are reliable and willing to work hard, get along with the staff, etc. the facility will let you know ahead of time what their future needs will be. That helps some.
