UK vs. Philippines

hello everyone!

i'm interested in applying for a student visa for uk, but then after reading the comments/experiences of nurses who are already in uk, i got discouraged and now i'm not sure if i'll pursue my application through aima to be an nvq 4 student.

now, i'm re-considering my previous plan which is to gain one year of hospital experience here in the philippines then apply for the onp program that the uk universities offer.

what do you think is the best thing to do? i'm a newly registered nurse and now i'm in my 3rd month of hospital training and i've got one more month to decide what would be my next step. will i still apply for the nvq 4 course then apply for an assessment to nmc after the course or it's better to gain hospital experience first?

any comments/suggestions will be so much appreciated.:o

god bless everyone...

well well, i am already in NEW ZEALAND NOW HEHEHEHE!!! i go hired in the nursing home.....i told you your advised doesnt work to everybody. get lose man

Well congratulations for getting a job in NZ. Hmmm, although I truly wonder how that was made possible. Anyway good luck; I just wished you were more kind with your words when posting in public forums. You don't have to get mad and take things all too personally when people post opinions contrary to what you believe. Let's not contribute to the bad image some Filipinos have painted in the nursing world because not everyone has the maturity not to overgeneralise. Few bad experiences with Filipinos and they think that all Filipinos are bad. Just read the posts of some members in this very particular thread and you will find out that they have formed very rigid opinions regarding us, our country and our education. Again, good luck my friend! Respect for others and for yourself will get you a long way in whatever endeavour you take.

By the way, what stormforce and silverdragon said are true and make a lot of sense. It gives a real picture of the condition in UK. And NZ is not UK, is it?:)

Wow are you in NZ already, that was extremely fast I'm amazed you've been able get get a work permit organised in the short time you've been asking immgration questions

do you mind telling us how you've managed it, What language requirements are there, if you've been professionally registered with thier board of nursing and what capacity you've been hired in. I am sure others who are wanting to leave the phillipines would dearly like to know how you've achieved so much with your qualifications experience and how so fast

Wow how did this guy pass the ielts...
