Hi Suzanne, I am in nursing school and is trying to find out something, I am out of status, my husband is also out of status, he has his father here who is a citizen, can you tell me if his father can sponsor him, and how long would it take for him to get the green card, can he petition hi, as married son, please let me know this is my only hope, thanks.

How long have you been out of status for? His father can petition for him, but it will take about five years, it is not right away. And that is not your only hope, it is not even a valid option.

What type of visa were you on? And when did it expire? How much longer do you have with school? What type of program? RN or PN? If PN, you are really in a bind, you cannot be petitioned for a green card with that.
