Sponsorship Question

Hi,

I am an International Nurse who will graduate next month from an American University. Does anybody know if there are any GC sponsoring employers in the Houston area Texas or New Orleans/Houma area in Louisiana ?

I am looking for decent pay but most importantly someone who can pay for the GC expenses. Please help. I called so many hospitals but not getting good responses.

In the event that you do not know about Hospitals in these areas, are there any Agency Nursing firms that do this ??

Please Help..

Are you asking for "sponsorship" or petitioning? Big difference between the two. You want petitioning for a green card.

Following thread might give you some answers...

Hi Suzanne,

I have a Registered Nurse (BSN, 4 year course) friend here in the philippines who did not practice for 10 years. his wife, who is also a nurse, was given an immigrant visa already and will leave for NY on Sept 2005. He has the following question on visascreen and taking NCLEX in new york.

1. Which will be better? Applying for a visa screen while he is the Phil or wait if he is in NY and just bring all the required docs?

2. Can he take NCLEX in California even if his wife is in NY, granting he applied and granted a visascreen?

3. Any other inputs are appreciated

Thanks and regards.

Does he have a current nursing license at home?

If he is going to the US on a spousal green card then he doesn't need to get the Visa Screen Certificate. The Visa Screen Certificate is only needed if he is applying for his own green card.

Where you take the exam has nothing to do with where you will be licensed.

Does he wish to work in NY or CA. If he has a spousal visa, then he should get a SSN# soon, so where he gets licensed should depend on where he wishes to work.

Make sure that you apply for the OPT before you graduate or you will have the standard waiting period before being permitted to work.

Yes, he has licensed and he is under a spousal greencard.

He wants to try to in CA since his relatives are there but may also try to work in NY

So you mean to say that he can take NCLEX anytime upon arrival? Are there other required documents, eg. transcript, diploma, license?

Thanks so much, Suzanne!

He still has to apply to the Board of Nursing with his transcripts, etc., just like his wfe did. The only difference is that he doens't need the Visa Screen Certificate. He still has to have permission from the state to get to take the exam, just like anyone else. He can follow the same steps that his wife did. :)
