RPN to RN

Hi all, just wondering if anyone out there has been trying or tried this route. RPN (2yr) then taking the RN in the states. (i know the RN ADN is 2 yrs also) but the cost of being a international student for such a long time is very very very pricey...

I just wanted to know the steps an how the transfer crdts worked out. I've spoken with the NY BON an they had no clue what i was talking about... the rep was thrown off when I told him the RPN/PN was 2yrs. As for transfer crdts he had one option for me .. apply strt to the school in the US an skip the canadain RPN program.

if anyone can help with a little info it would be appreciated.

Hey there,

I think if you want to save money, you should come over to BC for a visit,

we've got a few local colleges here that offer 2 year 'accelerated' BSN degree programs for RPN/LPN's

whoops my bad, I thought u already had a 2year RPN and was wanting to become an RN

If goal is to work in the US, then definitely do not go the route of getting the RPN first. Not all credits may be accepted. Even though it is a two year program, it would only transfer as a one year degree program towards your RN, so in theory you have wasted one year.

Are you from Canada or another country?

Thank you both for the info..... it seems as if the best option i have is to go to buffalo. Thnx "No Worries" i thought of BC a few of my friends are leaving this month to start the Accl program. I have a family and my wife already has a RN job in our town.. she not looking fwd to moving :o

I most definetly dont want to wast one yr. thats a last to no option :sniff:
