Hallo there, was just wondering if anyone can help me, im a qulified Registered Mental Health nurse here in the Uk and im thinking of moving to the states, My only problem is that i dont know if they take RMNs there, Does anyone know? the other thing is i would like to work in Texas, proberbly in nursing homes with the elderly suffering from dementia or Alzheimers as it is what im doing at the moment , do you know what my first step should be? Please help.

When did you actually graduate, as the UK changed their curriculum a few years ago. There are going to be courses that you are going to be required to make up before you will be permitted to sit for the NCLEX exam and get a license to work in the US, unless you had clinical and theory hours in Peds/Maternal Health, et. Texas requires the CES, a credentials eval done by CGFNS, so I suggest that you start with that. If your credentials are accpeted, then you will need to also submit for the Visa Screen Certificate, thru CGFNS, but I would not do that until you get an approval from CGFNS.
