Nurse Jobs in Ausstralia Inquiry

hi. Good Day! im a british citizen of filipino descent working as a nurse in a big NHS hospital here in London. i'd like to ask:

1. do i need to apply for a nurse registration (ANMC) now or do i wait for a job application to be confirmed?

2. is there an exam to take before working in Aus?

3. any agency or website i can go to look for Aus nurse jobs?

4. what's the best state to work in?

I don't think you need to sit an exam for Australia, that has been the impression I have seen from another website as well as here but you do have to go through licensure with the province you wish to work in. I have also seen, on the other website which has a lot of UK nurses going to Australia, many talking about IELTS if they wanted the extra points although wasn't necessary as trained in English. Also just had a quick look at another site for reference and there is no mention on a start date but does state that IELTS is required if not a native speaker of English, exception would be if gained a tertiary degree when English is the main language

Hi. been doing my own research and have found this passage from http://www.immi.gov.au re IELTS,

'All primary applicants must meet the English language requirement unless they have been nominated for a position that does not require English language for licensing or registration and any one of the following exempted person categories apply...

'their nominated occupation is within the highly skilled major groups 1-3 of the Australian Standard Classification of Occupations (ASCO), comprising managers, administrators, professionals and associate professionals'

Does'nt it mean that being a registered nurse exempts me from taking the IELTS?

I am already registered with NBSA and have been working in the UK for more than 2 years now but have a Philippine passport.

where do i look for this 'asco highly skilled major groups 1-3'?

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

This is something the state will decide. Working in the UK probably means you do not have to sit a bridging program but may not excuse you from English as that is a requirement of immigration

so, it would depend on which state in Aus i'm going? and is there an exam i need to take like the CRNE in canada or nclex in the states?

It all goes on transcripts and nursing experience. I know nurses from the UK have gone and have not had to take any exam or assessment as their training was deemed enough. Why thinking on changing already?
