Nurse from USA wanting to work in Scotland

Hello everybody!

This is my first time posting on Allnurses, and I'm very excited to join the community! I'm currently a nursing student from and living in the States. However, my mother is Scottish so I do have full British citizenship. I'd really love to be able to work as a nurse over in Scotland, but I'm unsure of the requirements to be able to do that. Does anybody here have experience with this? What kind of exams/what is the process you need to go through in order to get licensure in the UK?
