Hey all! New here sort of. Found the Allnurses months ago. Started as a med student this year wanted to drop out half way thru. the year.

Continued, did my exams finished them all now and have dropped out. I enrolled in nursing for next year can't wait to get started. Runs in the family. Would have been good to have a doc in the family :D found I wanted more interaction with patients.

Welcome to nursing Jarrod. I hope that you enjoy it more than med school. Out of curiosity which Uni are you enrolled in to study nursing? I am at LaTrobe in Bundoora and have just finished my Public Health degree in Health Promotion (yayay) and have one year to go (4th year) to finish nursing (double degree). I am really enjoying it so far and I have friends studying nuring at different uni's around Melbourne and we all seem to be doing very similar work. I think every nursing course at Melbourne's uni's are good.

Anyway - welcome aboard and I hope that you have a great time.

Rachel :)

Hi Rachel! I was at Monash U. Clayton this year. Enrolled into Melbourne U. for next year, 1st pref, ACU as second pref, new course there, can't wait to get started (if I get accepted). Not so far to drive next year, was dring from Keilor to Clayton, public transport before May! Probably one of the best things about it. A lot of nursing students I spoke to during open days really enjoy nursing. Thanks for the welcome. J.B.

Jarrod, welcome aboard. Big change there- Good luck with your studies, hope you enjoy nursing too. Sounds as though you will! :)
