Need speaker on skype for nursing class

World International

I am part of a group project about global healthcare. We're required to find someone outside of the U.S. that will be willing to talk to our class of 30 nursing students. I didn't know where else to ask, none of my group members knows anyone outside of the country. We are students from San Jose State University, California

The person can be anyone that knows any information about health care that focuses on children and/or maternal health (preferably someone working in the health care field, but I'm not picky). Our presentation is on April 26, so the person must be available on that day from 3:30-5:30 (Pacific Time Zone). The person must also have skype to answer some questions that my group made up (we will make questions that are related to your expertise). You won't be talking the full 2 hours that's just how long my class is, so sometime in those 2 hours we're doing the presentation.

Comment or PM me if you are able to participate or know someone who'd be willing to participate. I would really appreciate this help.

Specializes in Peds, Med-Surg, Disaster Nsg, Parish Nsg.

Moved to International Nursing.

If you can't find anyone else I can help you and talk about the topic from Finnish perspective. Although, the timing is little harsh, as the 3.30-5.30 PM Pacific means to me very early morning on 27th.

Specializes in Oncology/Haemetology/HIV.

My sympathies are with you that you have such a instructor that would ask such an invasive and inconvenient thing be done on his/her schedule and send students on such an assignment.

Do they not realize that many nurses are so busy that they do not have friends out of country, access to Skype, that they work hard enough without having to deal with an instructors trivial whim to create a serious inconvenience. That we have families, friends and lives outside of nursing.

Do these instructorsnot have the common sense of a house plant that a large number of foreign nurses that could communicate well in medical English, barring Canada or S. America will be in time zone that may be quite off putting, or serious interrupt their rest, work or family time.

I cannot assist you but heartily bless whoever can assist you. But it dismays me that nursing schools/ instructors are REQUIRING such invasive nonsense without a thought regarding the respondents. It was bad enough when they send large numbers of long suffering students to repeatedly post the exact same questions and polls on the BB.
