Need advice about working in France

Dear All!

Have just registered and would like to say HELLO! I am a Registered Nurse who originally trained in England 6 years ago (however, I am of German nationality). Currently I am working with an NGO in the Dominican Republic working in two rural clinics. I am married to a french man and we intend to move to France once our contract ends here next year. Does anyone know if I can transfer my qualifications to France? I will obviously learn the language in-depth, but does anyone know if there is something like an adaptation programme? Is it easy for an EU member to get a nursing post in France? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Hi

If you do a search on this forum there is a thread about working in France. As a EU citizen you shouldn't have a problem, RN is transferrable I believe you just have to show your transcripts (may have to get them translated) I think speaking fluent french will aid you on getting a job in France better than not speaking much of their language. If I get chance later will try and find the thread for you but dashing off to work
