Moving back from Europe to The USA

Hello everyone. new to this site.

so, I was born in the USA, moved to Finland when I was 28. Studied in Finland in and English language nursing program, graduated in 2008 and have been working since as a registered nurse here.

now, things change, I'm looking to move back to the US. BUT LORD, the hassle.

Has anyone else out there done this before?

I'm even going to be required to take a English language proficiency test, looks like.

Is there a job I can work with a foreign RN Licence BEFORE I am certified in the US?

Something health care related that I can support myself with while residing and studying and slogging through the procedure, while becoming a little bit acclimated to the expressions and topics that are important in the US? It is a bit different here.

I've worked for the past 10 years in an Infectious Disease ward, so MRSA, ESBL, the various other super bugs, i.v. therapy, wound care, isolation/quarantine/barrier nursing, is my "specialty". Epidemiology is my hobby.

Thanks for any help. or ideas. and merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah, happy new year, to all.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Why not start the application process now before you move, that way you can continue working whilst sorting registration out?
