Can I, from the US, apply through the nmc to become a midwife nurse?
Midwifery is a specialized area in the UK and RN's will have done either their general training + further 18 months specialized midwifery training or 3 years just midwifery. So unless your midwife training matches that I would say no. Midwifes in the UK is very different from the US and midwives have alot more automaty over here.
This does not mean that you cannot work on the wards it might mean restrictions on where you work exactly within the wards.
