Hi everyone

I want to get some info about RN jurisprudence exam in TX.

Is the online courses in the website Nursing Jurisprudence Prep Course helpful? Do I need to study all the sources like Nursing Practice Act ,Rules and regulation,and Rules ?How can I remember these difficult words???.

I appreciate if anyone can give me more info?

The online course was specifically created to prepare for the Jurisprudence exam - so, yes it is helpful.

Despite the opinions of uninformed people, the Texas Nurse Practice Act is much stronger and far more specific than other states. For instance, we have had a legally established "nurse patient duty" that cannot be subsumed to that of the physician - since 1984. We were the first state to have a mandatory Peer Review process for any employer of >10 nurses... Kansas joined us a few years ago. We have many nursing safeguards, including SafeHarbor and state Whistleblower protections. So - we feel that understanding our NPA is not only critical in terms of practice compliance, but also to take advantage of the protections offered to each and every nurse.

Understanding all the 'legalese' words can be difficult. However, there are many documents on the TBON website than can help you. The Frequently Asked Questions and Position Statements are very informative.
