Hi all :nurse:

Im doing my final year at ACU and I've already chose to work in acute/critical care setting when i graduate, but i still wanna study more. I could choose a graduate programme provided by a hospital or i could doing part-time study of acute care nursing at university. I just dont know which one is better? I think both of them could enchance my skills.

So, in this situation, which one would you choose?

Thanks

Samuel

I have not heard of a university that would except an candidate for post grad cert, diploma or masters, unless you have at least 1 year post grad experience after bachelor degree.Further more, Usually you will not be suitable applicant unless you are working in that specialty for at least 3 days a week or equivalent. Mental health diploma is often accepted as part of a mental health grad year is only exception.Australia has this concurrent thing theory and doing the prac at the same time as well. To obtain a masters, cert or diploma post grad, means that you are at advanced practise as a nurse whether it is a generic post grad or not. My suggestion get a general grad year or a postion in a hospital as a first year RN for a year first.
