Hello!

by marinsf

Hi,everyone.
My name is " marinsf ". It's my first time here.

I am a registered nurse working in Japan.
I have just got ATT and I am taking NCLEX-RN Exam within a year.

I have a question about SSN( Social Security Number ).
Even if I pass NCLEX exam, my license won't be validated until I get SSN in CA.
I heard about the limit within 1 year, or 3 years but I am not sure what is correct information.

Until when should I get SSN in CA after I pass NCLEX-RN exam?

Does anyone know the latest information about the question above?

Thank you.
marinsf

There is no latest information, you will not get a license until you give the CA BRN a valid Social Security Number. And you do not ge tthat until you are in the US.

You will not be able to get a SSN# until you have gone thru the immigration process and have arrived in the US. California gives you three years to give them the SSN#, otherwise you will need to reapply to them. You will not need to take the NCLEX exam again.

I highly suggest thay you do the review while you are overseas, not to come to the US to prepare for the exam. I can help you if you want.

Hi, Suzanne4

As your suggestion,
I will prepare for the exam and improve english skills while I work as a rn in Japan. And then, I will go to the US after I pass the exam.

Thanks, again.
