He said, she said: Courier vs CGFNS

EMS said their records show my Visa Screen application & payment was delivered and signed for end of September.

I finally talked to somebody at CGFNS. They say that they have never received my application and payment. When I mentioned the date, time and signee in EMS records, the CGFNS person said they do not have an employee by that name.

So what do I do now?

Is there a chance that the CGFNS person is wrong, and that my application is there all along? It would create waves if I ask the bank to investigate who cashed the check, if CGFNS people failed to enter the data into their computers.

The flip side is, has anybody else been in this same situation? Where EMS claimed that the documents had been delivered and signed for, but were not? Has anybody lost any documents sent via EMS?

It's very frustrating. All along I thought my Visa Screen papers were being processed. Looks like I've lost $325 and 4 months of processing time.

I hope I can recover the $325.

The bank isn't the one to have anyhting to do with CGFNS. All that you are doing is checking to see if the check has been cashed. And was it a certified check or maney order? It should not be a personal check from your acount.

If it has not been cashed, then the check as well as everything else was lost. If it was, then get a copy. It will have which CGFNS account # that it was credited to. Simple as that.

Do not try to make it any harder for yourself.

My bank checked the status of the check: it had not been encashed.

They tagged it as a lost check and I had to shell out a $15 processing fee. Better than losing the entire amount.

The amount will be credited to my account after 1 week.

Whew! I'm so glad I didn't lose the money!

This leads me to the problem: the prime suspect is the subcontractor of EMS.

When I first checked with them, they said my documents were "not delivered" according to their computer files. When pressed, they gave me a date, time, and name of "recipient."

I leave it up to you guys to draw your own conclusions.

Lesson: Use FedEx, especially when you're sending checks!

Now I gotta look for the documents again...and have my pics taken...and wait for the reimbursement before I can order a replacement bank draft...

Thanks for the help, Suzanne!

Aren't you glad that you know what happened, or I should say, did not happen?

I'm so glad this whole fiasco only cost me $15 financially...but the 4 months lost is harder to accept.

Now the clock will be reset and will start when I send my new application & bank draft.

I really appreciate your time & effort helping us!

I am glad that you listened and you did some searching, or you could still be waiting months................

You know I listen to you... :wink2:

I hope the other forum members learn a lesson from my bad experience.
