Foreign bsn graduate applying for NCLEX-RN

Hi everyone, I'm a student nurse in Ghana in my final year. Also a permanent resident in the US. I came back to Ghana since I have some few months to complete school. But from what I've been reading on this forum of what foreign bsn graduates have been going through...cgfsn verification...which is a long process, I've been having second thoughts of transferring to a nursing school in the US. I'm really confused of either to complete or to transfer. With the transfer my chances may be to start afresh the whole four year course or to start from the 2nd year depending on the schools policy.

Really confused, can anyone share ideas?

Very hard to transfer between schools/colleges in the US so doubly hard if from outside the US

Thanks for the reply. So what do you suggest...that I complete my nursing School and come to the US to write the NCLEX?

It is probably better to finish your training and then apply to the state as a International Educated Nurse and meet requirements and then sit NCLEX. You may have to start all over again if you try and transfer back to the US

Please do you have any idea of how the NY edu system works, that is the infection control and child abuse course... when are these courses suppose to be completed. Is it before you apply to the BoN or after?

NY training includes these courses but as a IEN you can do them anytime during your application
