F-1 international student in nursing program

Hi, I'm an international student currently on F-1 VISA.

I'll be done with my pre-req for ADN program by this spring semester, then I am planning to apply to AND program this year.

I'm living in CA and there are not many 4yr universities that accept F1 students for nursing but they do for other majors ...!!

that;s why I'm planning to apply not to BSN courses, but ADN courses.

My question is, am I eligible to be accepted to ADN program in community college in CA?

I just got a reply from community college that I'm planning to apply that, to be accepted, I need a Social Security Number with working permit on it.

I used to work on a campus, and i do the tax-report. When I got a job on campus, I got a SSN but it only allows to work on campus.

I'll be getting a green card within a year. However, currently I am an F-1 student, with no working permit.

Just to clarify my questions,,

As a F-1 student, am I eligible to be accepted to ADN program in community college in CA?

If so, If you know any, please let me know.

So far, Ohlone collge and Chabot college, DiabloValley City College in CA replied me that I cannot even apply for their program.

It may be because without an unrestricted valid SSN you are ineligible for a nursing license in CA. There is no point in attending school if you cannot be licensed. Most other countries have a BSN as the entry to practice and it's always recommended to attend school in the country where you wish to live and work. You may need to postpone until you have a green card/SSN and then can apply to BSN programs
