Hi everybody,

I began the CVS-NY state in november 2005 because I knew I was coming in March 2006. The CGFNS sent me a mail in February 2006 to inform me that the process started (3 months after receiving my application and fees!!!!!)and can takes up to 6 months.

They send 3 letters to the licensing authority before having a response, the only reason was they were sending it to the wrong people!!

After few hours on the phone with France, I obtained from the licensing authority (they do not have the diploma number) that they transfered the CGFNS paper to the right service in an other county!!

They send back the form to the CGFNS on July. He takes for the CGFNS up to one week between I can read "receiving the doc" and "ready for submission".

And now, they are telling me that it can take up to 2 months and a half to be send to the NYS!

This is only a summary of the nightmare !

I live in NYC, have a SSN and have not practicing since 6 months (I only get my degree one year ago).I am going to work in a pastry shop, how exiting??

I am tired to call the CGFNS and talked to unkind people who didn't care and didn't even answer my question.

I sent regular mail to the CGFNS, they told me they didn't receive it, I sent an email and never get any answer.

At least I thought they were sending doc in French, that was in english. So 300$ for what???sending 2 letters? Since they don't analyse, transcript, they need 45 business day to verify that these doc are coming from France??

I have an EAD but if I want to have the green card, do I have to apply for the visascreen?? Is there any other manners to obtain visascreen ?

I saw one day the name of the manager of the customer service of the CGFNS, do someone remember , I will try to send her a letter via FEDEX?

I was thinking about writing an article for METRO or AM or others but what?

I would like to know if I can pass the NCLEX in an other state since I have my SSN??

Thanks for your answers

If you are going to work in NY, you must go thru the CVS process, even to endorse. NJ requires only a CES, if you are willing to go thru that.

What type of visa are you currently on? If you want to get a green card, you are going to need to get a Visa Screen Cetificate, it is required by immigration and no way around that.

Call CGFNS first thing in the morning and ask to speak to the supervisor of Customer Service.

thank you very much Suzanne.

I am currently dependent on an E-2 visa.

Is my EAD enough to work or I am supposed to do the visascreen before begining to work? Because I am confused since the CGFNS post online (august) that even the AOS will need the visascreen.

I will try to get in touch with the supervisor of customer service on tuesday.

Thank you to reply to all these posts,

If you have an EAD, you can begin work. To get a green card, you will need to get the Visa Screen Certificate done. AOS needs Visa Screen, any petition for the green card needs it, it is just that the AOS actually needs it before the interview at immigration, where consular processing needs it at US Embassy interview.

Hi suzanne,

I called the CGFNS and ask for the supervisor and explain everything. She finally told me that the report would be issued in the 10 days and one week after my call I checked my account and saw that it was issued (almost 10 months after my application). So I wanted to thank you for your help and advices.:wink2:

I'm now planning to work more on my examination. I use Saunders review book, can you give me some tips for the last few week before taking the exam ( I hope!!)?
