CGFNS Requirements

Hello,

I'm an Australian RN and currently living in the USA with my husband(American). I've been trying to go through CGFNS for 6months now. I've now recently found out that I may need additional clinical hours in midwifery in order to get my visascreen which is required to get my nursing license in Kentucky. Is there anybody who's managed to get clinical hours without returning to their home country or know of a way to achieve this?

Hello. The last reply to this thread was several months ago. I hope the issue has been resolved.

I'm not sure if my question is related to the topic, but please, anybody, help...

I would like to apply for CGFN-CES service. I need to know if they would require my Nursing College Diploma??? Because if they do, I would request it from my school first (takes time) before I apply for CGFN-CES... Any help/info would be very much appreciated :)

I am an RN from Ukraine. I check in every university of KY and they denied me in getting only Mental Health Nursing and OB credit hours. The only one place to go is Bellarmine University. I went there for this two courses, completed them, and am very happy now.I received my CGFNS Cerificate already.Go directly to Dean of Nursing. She is wonderful person and will help you. Good luck!!!

I live in Kentucky which is the only state that requires Visa Screen even though I am an USA citizen, have CGFNS CErtificate, passed TOEFL and CGFNS Exam.

This thread is obviously a few years old, but I guess I'm using it to vent my frustrations with CGFNS. As a RN, "customer service provider" is one of the many hats we wear; so when I use services as a consumer, I tend to be very lenient and understanding with representatives and customer service staff in troubleshooting varying issues r/t the services I'm seeking as a consumer. I.e, i'm a very pleasant customer. However, I have just met the straw that broke the camel's back.

Never in my life have I dealt with such disrespectful, condescending, and unhelpful customer service representatives as the people at CGFNS. I realize I am clumping all of the agents into one group, where there might be the occasional friendly, helpful employee, but from my experience with NUMEROUS staff members, this is not the case.

I understand (but don't know exactly the situation) they may be understaffed or what have you, but when you are a "customer service representative", you have zero right to treat your consumers with such disregard as I have been treated with. I have called CGFNS a few times regarding a major delay in their "mailroom backlog", as it was described to me. I called only in search of information about the status of my paperwork and how I might remedy THEIR mailroom backlog. I was very polite and tossed in as many pleasantries as I could stomach; yet, I was completely humiliated by the Visa Screen manager on the telephone who said it takes 10-16 days to process documents (ya thanks) after I mentioned that it's almost been 20 business days already. He proceeded to speak to me as though I was a 5 year old being scolded for wetting the bed.

I know that this is the only company that currently provides this service but I truly believe that there should be repercussions for their extremely poor treatment of their customers and their terrible service.

Sorry for the vent

I have also had this issue with them. Once an item is sent to then is take over a month for it to be recognised on the system as received. Because of these long delays I started to contact them every week regarding my application asking for updates. I also used to email every week asking for the complaints procedure but they would never provide it. But I guess this worked because yesterday my visa screen was issued :-)

So just keep on to them. You are right the customer service is very poor. But email through the system once a week or ring them depending in cost to you, Asking them about the progress of your application it does work.

Good luck

They actually require your school to send it directly to them. It can't come from you, like if you already have your transcripts on hand.
