can RN work as CPT?

Hi,

It is my first time here. I graduated from a community college and got RN and work as RN at a hospital. My OPT (I am an international student) is expired Feb 2010. I was planning to transfer RN to BSN at a university near my home. But the international advisor told me that once I go back to F1 visa status, I can not work as CPT (20 hours) during spring and fall semester at a hospital because I have already RN. Is this true?

Could you share any ideas? I live in Maryland state.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

The advisor may be correct as I read this as CPT as internship or work experience and you will already have that if already a RN.
