Can I get a green card without EAD ?

Please help.I have passed NCLEX_RN in Feb..A hospital in NY want to use me as a nurse and

sponsored me for green card, but the hospital want my EAD now. My EAD had passed its period of validity, the lawyer said they can not apply for continuing my EAD because I have a half year period of lawless residence in USA. If I can not get a EAD, the hospital will not hire me,I will not get this job.I am at sea now.

How can I get my EAD? Is there any method for me to solve this problem?

If the hospital do not hire me, do u think I can still be petitioned for the green card with an Adjustment of Status filed on my behalf now?

It only comes down to them filling out a couple of documents that will be given to you by the immigration attorney, and it is best to use your own, unless they are willing to pay all of the fees for it.

You mean I can do the first step with the hospital signature on the documents?

You need an immigration attorney to do that for you, there are specific documents that need to be filed. I do not deal with that part of it at all.
