Can I get a green card without EAD ?

Please help.I have passed NCLEX_RN in Feb..A hospital in NY want to use me as a nurse and
sponsored me for green card, but the hospital want my EAD now. My EAD had passed its period of validity, the lawyer said they can not apply for continuing my EAD because I have a half year period of lawless residence in USA. If I can not get a EAD, the hospital will not hire me,I will not get this job.I am at sea now.
How can I get my EAD? Is there any method for me to solve this problem?
If the hospital do not hire me, do u think I can still be petitioned for the green card with an Adjustment of Status filed on my behalf now?

No, you can't get a green card without EAD, because they're giving GC to you for working as a nurse in US hospital.

If you were in US illegally , then your lawyer can't apply for your EAD or green card.

If you are in the US and are applying for a nursing position, via the AOS, you will receive the EAD once your applciation has been accepted by immigration, usually about a two month wait. This will permit you to work while your green card application is being processed.

You can be waiting nine months plus for the green card, so most want the EAD to be able to work. Without it, you can't.

You should ask a lawyer. Your illegal status in USA should not over 180 days.

I went Us legally.I had gotten my EAD in 2004, but it had passed its validity.I think via the AOS, i will receive the EAD.SP I can go to while my green card application is being processed. Is it right?

What should i do now?

I got my last EAD by apply for my EB_1a visa, after the I-485, I got my EAD, but EAD has passed its period of validity. How can i get EAD now? via the AOS? How can i do it?

You can and will get another EAD with the filing of the AOS. But it needs to be filed before they will send you anything. Expect it to take about 2 months to get.

Is your visa for the US still current at this time?

Now I must get another EAD wiht the filing fo ther AOS.

Yes, that is correct. And that is why your other EAD could not be renewed.

You are not in that position anymore.

The hospital needs to petiton you for a green card via the Adjustment of Status, or AOS. When that is done, then you will get the EAD in about two months or so. You should already have a SSN#, since you had one already assigned to you and it doesn't change. The green card for the RN is employer-driven, meaning that the employer needs to do the petitioning, you cannot start it on your own without the employer taking the first steps. It only comes down to them filling out a couple of documents that will be given to you by the immigration attorney, and it is best to use your own, unless they are willing to pay all of the fees for it.
