ASC Global and the UK

Hello,

i I am an RN aspiring to get a job in the UK. I took IELTS AcademicUKVI last July and got 7.5 overall. My writing, however, is just 6.5. Despite this, ASC Global still got my CV and other requirements and asked me to fill up some checklist. Last Thursday, I got a call from them (after about 2 weeks) that I'm set for initial interview via phone. They asked me when I'm available, and I said, tomorrow (Friday) but they rescheduled me on Tuesday (today) at 10AM. So, I agreed. I waited for the call from 10AM to 12NN but I didn't get anything. I'm still waiting though, patience is a virtue, as they say anyway. ;) I'm just quite curious how this process works as most agencies only entertains 7.0 overall passers.

Is anyone here signed up with ASC Global recruitment? Any feedback like how their process works, timeline, etc?

Thank you!

as for my personal experience. some agencies entertain applicants who are yet to get 7.0 on all sub tests on ielts.

im not an expert on the process but if you wish to work as an RN in the UK.

The first test of competency that you will be taking [NMC CBT] to be certified to work as an RN in the UK will require you to have no score lower than 7 on any subtest.

Again, im not an expert and it would be best to ask ASC if it would be possible for you to actually push on to the process w/out the required marks. But, for the mean time you might as well take the interview. its good experience and yes, the hospital/company may give you a conditional job offer w/out the IELTS score.

You will still need to meet NMC requirements so would also suggest retaking the exam and try to improve on the area that is 6.5 as NMC requires a 7 in all areas

@goxrn

The 6.5 score in either or both writing and speaking, is for the applicant to be shortlisted for the initial or, depending on the employer, final interview. Once conditionally hired by the employer, ASC has will have those applicants undergo an intensive review or coaching on the area/s that you failed to get at least 7. This is to at least give you an edge or a higher chance of getting the required bandscore the next time you sit for IELTS.
