A good day my dear colleagues! How are you? I hope you are all fine.

May I ask for an advice from you?

I am not comfortable in seeing the private organs of patients. May you suggest some areas in nursing where there will be no exposure to the private organs of patients?

I know that our profession involves taking care of bodies. But maybe there are nursing areas or specialties out there that will suit me.

I will be very happy to read your replies.

Unfortunately, there are no areas of nursing in which you will never come across patients' private areas at least occasionally. It is part of the job, and maintaining professionalism is tantamount- there is absolutely nothing sexual about providing care for a patient, even when it involves genitalia. Yes, it will take time to get used to, but it is possible. If you find you cannot deal with this situation at all, then perhaps you need to revisit your desire to be a nurse.

Blood bank nursing and footcare nursing do not involve genitilia.

I didn't see too many private parts when I worked in a psych hospital!

You would still need to get through nursing school and that would involve seeing patients unclothed. Or are you already a nurse? Why did you choose nursing? Were you not aware what it entailed?
