I am curious how other IV teams are giving IV Amiodarone. Peripheral? Midline? or Central line? Those who are giving it peripherally, are you seeing alot of Amiodarone phlebitis?

Peripherally.

Nope haven't seen probs w/Amniodorone Phlebitis.

We just have to start a new peripheral if the patient is on anything else...has to be a dedicated line.

And on nights......there is no IV Team.;)

Amio can run with anything it is compatible with in our unit and it is permitted to run it peripherally.

However, it causing phlebitis regardless of whether it is just running though that line alone or with something else has seemed to be a problem lately, at least on my unit. If they have central access, I opt for there to run it through
