How long to complete lpn/lvn to BS

Hello,

I will be completing my LPN program in July and I am considering ISU's program. I am curious how long it has taken others who have completed the program? Did you have your gen ed classes completed before starting the program or did you do them while in the program? Where all of your pre reqs complete when you sent your transcripts for evaluation or were you in the process of completing some? How many semesters did you have clinical? Any info is appreciated! Thanks.

I looked into this program extensively, and it's my personal opinion that you're better off taking the long road and going through a traditional program.

I'm waiting to hear back on their admission decision for Fall 2016, but I was told it all depends on how many courses you take a semester. If you take a full course load, most likely 2 calendar years or 6 semesters including summer. That's with taking the general education courses which have to be completed before applying.

The curriculum PDF file they have on their website shows 5 different clinicals ranging from 45 hours to 135 hours.

No problem!

I did forget to mention to send in your transcripts as soon as you can. Even if you have to complete a course or two, it gives you time to see what classes you'll need. I ran into a problem where a course didn't equivalently transfer in, pushing my application date back to this fall instead of this past spring. The contact person for that process helped me figure out where I can take the course I needed too. They'll reach out to you after you apply for the "transcript evaluation."

Once that's complete, then you continue to the application process.
