Here's some information for anyone interested:

I am taking CHEM-101-11B class.

I placed my order for the books thru the online bookstore, but the book bundle was back-ordered.

They told me it may be in tomorrow or it may be two weeks, there was no way for them to know. I asked if they could guarantee it would be here in time for class & they said no. They recommended I send the professor a "courtesy email" if my book didn't arrive in time to see if any arrangements could be made for me until the book arrived.....I called South Bend, they had the book in stock & they agreed to send it to me since I got the run-around by the online bookstore.

If you have trouble with your order through the online bookstore, you may try contacting SB bookstore as well.

That is fantastic!! How did you get ahold of the SB bookstore directly? I will be calling them ASAP. I am worried about the online bookstore having them on backorder.

I went to the Ivy Tech website & pulled up the South Bend campus site. There was a link to the bookstore that gave their phone #.

I talked to the manager of SB's bookstore.

Do you know what exactly you purchased? I am in that class too and am wanting to get the books online somewhere. What exactly does the bundle include? Is it just a book or is their a workbook too? Also, can you purchase the lab simulator anywhere else or should i order it from the online bookstore. Thanks!

I'm sorry, but no, I don't know exactly what I purchased...No-one gave me the ISBN #'s.

I don't know if you can order the lab simulator anywhere else or not. I would assume you could order it from Late Nite Labs, but I don't know if they could guarantee you'll get exactly what we need for class.

I voiced to both the Online bookstore people as well as SB bookstore that I feel the students are being forced to only purchase books through them since they do not post the ISBN #s...I am positive we can get these items cheaper elsewhere if we had the #s.

Thanks so much RN! I did call the SB bookstore and spoke to the manager. He said he'd be happy to ship them to me but would only accept a credit card, not financial aid. I have a scholarship I want to use so I am going to wait another week and see what happens with the online bookstore. When I called today, she said they would almost certainly have them in within a week. We shall see! Thank you very much for the helpful info!!

same here, my books for this class are backordered as well. Called them today and they couldn't tell me when they were coming. I looked @ Half.com and tried to find the same book/author/edition. Called the bookstore and said I might have the same book and read off the ISBN numbers, and they are not the same as the ones on half.com. Too bad thought, because they are $30 on that website. I think @ chemistry so I don't want to have a diff version.

I need to use student loans for my books so I'm just going to have to wait I guess. These books better come in> hopefully the instructor will be cool and realize that half the class won't have their books maybe!

We'll have to start a thread for this class so everyone in the class can have access to each other.

got my books today for this class. gee...it's pretty funny that I call them about getting it somewhere else and it is shipped the very next day (after being backordered...hmmm..)

anyway, it's the same darn book from half.com.

I got an email from them saying they came in Wednesday and would ship Thursday or Friday. My order still says the items are backordered but there is now a tracking number next to the Lab Access code, so we will see what happens. Hopefully I will get all the items and can quit checking the website!

I ordered mine on May 13th & on May 14th I got an email saying the status was shipped. Mine never said it was backordered. I ordered thru Follet bookstore.

Mine came today. I especially loved the sheet of copy paper with the lab access code on it-- it cost $57.50. LOL.
