I have gone through the program as have several of my co-workers and my manager. It is about $350 a credit hour, it took me 18 months for my core classes and another 3 for electives. Easy.....no BSN program is easy. Online is completely WRITTEN work, if you are someone who is disciplined, you can do this program. If you are NOT good at writing, look into the traditional 1 day a week classroom option. ONLINE IS NOT EASIER....

That being said. I am now in their Master's of Nursing Education online program. I love the support the campus gives you, it is a Christian based philosophy, and the graduation ceremony made me feel like queen for a day.

I wish you luck in which ever path you choose. IWU is a good choice!

I just graduated from the on-line RN-BSN program at IWU. I only needed two electives and took one during my core classes and took a DANTES exam to obtain my required 6 hrs. I live overseas so I did not attend the graduation ceremony. It took me about 18 months as well.

At times it was very tough and I felt overwhelmed by the course load, but stuck with it and I'm glad I did. It was a wonderful school. There are a lot of group projects. Thankfully, I had an awesome group and always met my deadlines. The 6 hr time difference was never an issue. If you have any other questions feel free to PM if you'd like.

Can you please give more details about the BSN online program at IWU? I am a full time RN and I want to go for my BSN, but I really need to be able to work full time. I was wondering if you can tell me more about the curriculum and how heavy it is. I want to have a pretty good idea before I sign up for the class that start next month. As I mentioned before, I want to have the oportunity to work full time and be able to do really good in the online course as well. I was so overwhelmed with the ADN and I hope the BSN is lighter. Please give me your opinion on the matter. I will greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

As DayOhioRn said it is completely written work including papers, discussion boards, and group work. Most classes require a group project with powerpoint presentation. I worked full time and was able to keep a mostly A average, with the exception of one class, I did not read the grading rubric entirely and missed a portion of the project and my grade reflected it. I am a military spouse stationed overseas and went on several vacations with my laptop and was able to keep up. I tried to work ahead when I could. I did get very overwhelmed when I was taking an elective with a 400 level nursing class, but I was able to get A's in both classes.

When posting in discussion forums as long as you don't reply with "I agree" to your classmates you will get good grades on your discussion posts. I also thought that they were very lenient with grading papers, in comparison to my ADN program. As long as you follow the grading rubrics and manage your time you should do fine.

Thanks a lot. This information will help me tremendously with my decision to start my bachelor's next month. I am hoping it is not as draining as the ADN was.
