Hello - this is my very first time posting a new topic, hopefully I'm doing this correctly. Just wanted to see if there are any ladies/gentlemen out there applying into the nursing program for the Spring 2013 semester. We... Read More

Thank you for that information. It is so nice discussing this with other students in the same boat as I am!!! I was thinking the same thing when I registered the application, I clicked "either" as well. I decided I will make it work. I too am a single mother, PurplePRN... god bless you for pushing through, I know it is difficult!!! For that matter God bless everyone going through this turmoil. It is so challenging pushing for & dedicating your time and life for something you may not get accepted into. However, I believe whether you think you will or think you wont, it will happen. So with that said, has anyone gotten any idea when we will hear the official word? I understood three weeks give or take. I don't know what the heck to do with my nervous energy LOL....

Strongfailth--thanks for clarifying! I can't wait for mid-end of Oct to find out The suspense is killing me! Our testing day on the 22nd was filled from what we were told!

    Good luck!!!

Hi, everyone. Being a CNA doesn't give you "extra points" at all. The reason they collect your registry is because, if you are a CNA, then you don't have to take NURS 140 during the first semester, which is really nice. I'm a fourth semester JJC nursing student and wish you all the best of luck in the program.
Thanks for confirming as well!!! I hope I just get in and then, if I do, I won't have to take NURS 140 Congrats to you for almost completing the program!!!!

Hi Guys I also took the test on Sept 22nd. That test was brutal. I did 3 practice test and i always heard they were harder then the real thing.......nope the real one was so much harder, esp, science. I studied so hard and I had so many earth questions and I dislike those questions.
I talked to Luna and she said last time the lowest score THAT GOT IN was 68%or 69% i dont remember which, but the girl had a 4.0 and she wasnt sure about her reading. That gave me hope. She also said with only 300 application this time that really helps to.

I thought I did great on my test until the results came in. I got a 72% overall and the reading was 79% with a 4.0 in the prereqs and i finished all that they look at in the program.

I did about the same just a tad better on the teas then the practice ones. I felt they helped but I studied as much as I possibly could and relooked over everything.
Also for any of us that do get in Luna said if you took NURS 100 {I LOVED THAT CLASS} study that math stuff and it will help in the first semester of nursing. Porportions and dosages. If you have the math confidence book it helps.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE I AM GOING NUTTS WAITING
I am hoping to get in nights SPRING 2013
WOW--thanks for all of the info!! You and I scored pretty similar and I am sooo nervous. I agree, I completed one ATI book practice test, 3 ATI online practice tests. The last one I scored very well on. I also read how the practice tests are much harder than the real thing, but I agree with you; no way were they easier, the actual test was much harder for me too!

My preference is the evening program but open to days if that is all they have for me; that is how bad I want in!

Does anyone happen to know what timeframe is for days and what timeframe for nights? or does it vary? thanks! I am surprised there is not any information on this on the jjc website.

No, I haven't heard from JJC directly but I did see someone post what their schedule was like at JJC. It is a lottery though so the times vary based on the day/evening. I believe we will be in school 3-4 days a week the first semester and it depends if you are a CNA or not (take NURS 140 or not).

I just saw my TEAS scores posted in our Test Summary section....I wonder where they are in the deciding process

You are so right - that is one of the other reasons I made this post, aside from being a nervous wreck about the TEAS. So many of us are going through this together, I truly hope we get it, all of us! I'm REALLY hoping that since the new building is supposed to be opening up Spring 2013, maybe they will take more applicants? Has anyone heard anything about this being a possibility? I was at school last night and read the paper which stated the nursing area is state of the art w/mannequins that actually cry, sweat, and bleed - how cool is this!! I sooooo want to be apart of this, I want it so bad I can taste it!

I picked nights but also picked either and I figured if its days I will round up a sitter before and after class. Most people said the science was the worst. I check my emails everyday, hoping its really early and they know lol
