Daley College

Hi...I have read a few threads of this school but they seem a little out dated...I just got accepted into Daley College nursing program and am really looking for anyone current in the program to give me some advice please. I would really like to know what the program is like there, how is the staff, school board, student body and ambiance. Apparently the application process changed in Chicago and although I applied to Truman and not Daley I was accepted at Daley . I have to reply by Monday May 9. 2011...PLEASE HELP..I know nothing about this school Any advice would help and am hoping things have changed a little from the threads I have read. Thank you for your time and any advice would be GREATLY APPRECIATED :)

I too applied to Truman and was accepted to Daley. Although I am grateful that I am accepted, I am a little miffed by the commute since I live on the north side and do not own a car; Google train directions say it will about 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to Daley. Anyway when I called the District office to see how they designated schools for accepted students they told me it was based on grades. The top students went to Truman, the next in line were directed to Daley and then the next in line were sent to Malcolm X. I really wish they would have let us list the 3 schools in order of preference so that there would be a better chance of getting into a school that was closer. Anyway, I'm excited to get into Daley and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the program is not as bad as I've read on a bunch of posts on this site. Hopefully, if things are really that bad we can all stick together and support each other. After all, we are the ones paying for these classes and dropping everything to make a huge change in our lives. Best of luck to everyone and I look forward to meeting you all! :)

Just in case you haven't read or heard, I have two groups on Facebook. One is called DALEY COLLEGE RN CLASS OF 2013 & the other is called City Colleges of Chicago Nursing Programs which is for all CCC nursing students. So far, there are about 50 members in each group and are supporting each other. Both groups been up since May 2011. Just copy & paste the titles in your facebook search and request to join these private and closed groups SOLELY for CCC students or Daley College rn students. The link to Daley is below. Hi, I applied in Truman for nursing fall 2013 and got accepted at Daley. My dad doesn't let me go to Daley since it is far from my place. I emailed back the one that I received and told them that I would like to go Truman instead of Daley, and they replied back right away stating that they had put me in the waiting list. I really want to start the program this coming fall but my parents don't let me since they worry about the neighborhood in Daley college. Can you guys tell me what kind of neighborhood in Daley is? Thanks a lot.
