Bachelor's to ADN or BSN bridge programs

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hello everyone, We recently moved to Illinois and I am hunting for options. i have a degree in Music Therapy and want to get either a ADN or BSN and then go through the programs at Frotier Midwifery school. I am trying to figure out the most cost and time effecient routes and programs that will work with an adult student in a career conversion process.

Any ideas or input would be appreciated, Thanks

May I ask what area of IL you live?

I am in Huntley. My long term goal is to go to midwifery school. i am looking at the distance program through Frontier. They have a program to shift the ADN to a MSN and hen go through the midwifery program.

Many, if not most, programs that offer a masters degree offer an advanced entry program of some sort. If you have an undergrad degree in any field, you can attend one of these programs as a graduate student, end up with your RN as well as a masters degree. It's a generalist masters, not an APN but a masters nonetheless. DePaul, UIC, and I think Loyola offer it as well as Rush University. Then your route to midwifery will be as simple as a post-masters cert. and you're on your way. Good Luck!
