Applying for SWIC Nursing Program Fall 2013

Hello! I applied this year after not getting accepted last year. I wanted to see who all has applied, so we can support each other. I took my DET test today. I got 6 points which bring me up to 21 points! I'm so excited. I was on the alternate list last year with 16 points, so I'm Pretty confidant this year. Has anyone else taken their test? All that is left now is to wait for our letters.

Letters will be send the 11th and the point cut-off was 18. (Info given to me by Mrs. Candice Rodgers) I did not make it, had 17 but still happy because Im going for my LPN at beck in July, and after that straight to SIUE for my BSN.

I actually called Claudia Brinkley's office and the secretary told me the letters were mailed yesterday! So excited! It didn't come in the mail today but hopefully tomorrow. :)

I've been peering out my window and door every morning waiting for our mail lady to come. I got my letter today and I'm in!! Soo excited!

I was the second alternate this year and I found out on Thursday that I made it in! I'm so glad to finally be able to live out my life long dream. I applied as a longshot with classes from years ago after some encouragement from an old friend who is just about to graduate from nursing school. I didn't think I had a chance, and I know I only got in because of God giving me favor! I give all the credit to Him :-)

congrats ladybug311k for making it, it is so exciting to be part of this program. I have a quiz though, do anyone knows anything about testing for the calculation class so that u r not suppose to take it for the summer? I will appreciate if anyone has the answer to this quiz. Thank you everyone I can wait to meet u, probably on the 3rd or 4th for the orientation.

Congrats Ladybug! That is amazing that you got in, from being on the alternate list. It was definitely meant to be!

I wasn't aware of the calculations class or the quiz, Chepronie. Hopefully we find out more during the session this week. I'm free to go to either of the sessions but I think I will be attending the Saturday one. I like mornings better. :) Excited to meet you guys in the future.

Did yall use any particular studying materials, to freshen up, before taking the DET? Whom gave you your best advice for the test and how did it help you?
