Hello...trying to get into Harper College in Palatine starting this Fall 2012. I'm finishing up the pre-req's this semester but have already finished Anatomy (A) and Microbiology (A) and got an 94% tile composite on NLN and 95% tile on Verbal. Has anyone gotten into Harper with three outstanding requirements on a contingency offer? I'll be done with Physiology, Chemistry and CNA this semester.

I have a friend that is offered a contigency spot n the cardiac tech program with much further spotting that the nursing program. I called yesterday because I saw that the Fall 2012 nusring secton id closed now, but they would not tell me the cut off scores, only that we would be getting letteres next week. Are you in district?

Don't know where my lasr trply went but the letter for the nursing program go out next week

Specializes in ER, IICU, PCU, PACU, EMS.

Moved to the IL Nursing Programs for more of a response.

I just checked my harper portal and the decisions are made. I dont know what it means but I have on my portal contingency-alternate. My friend got accepted and has an option and the lower part of that page for her to accept or decline the offer. But good luck :)

I made it in for Fall 2012. I recieved a letter stating that I would need to accept or decline the offer by April 12th. I know a few people who had pland to attend Harper this fall and things have changed, so if they were accepted they would have to decline. What classes outside of the program have you ladies finished? I am taking Micro this summer so the only class left for me to take, besides all the core nursing classes, is Advanced Pharmacology. Good luck ladies-I hope you get in or have gotten in!

I have also been accepted for the Fall 2012 Nursing Program here at Harper! So excited! I tried to get into Micro this summer but, they were all full. I'm taking NUR 180 Pathophysiology in the summer. So all I'd have in the Nursing program 1st semester is the NUR courses and now, I guess Micro. I've finished all other coursework already. So, I'll only be in NUR courses for the entire program. I still have no clue when orientation is. Waiting for the info on that. Worried that something may go wrong & I'd get thrown out! It's so stressfull, even after you find out you're excepted! Looking forward to meeting all of you at orientation!

I have a question, I just moved in district to Harper, I have more than enough science classes done with A's, I am trying to get into Harpers' nursing program the Srping of 2013, I am scheduled to take the nln in August, The only class I need is Chemistry, My question is, If I do not have a GPA at Harper by the deadline of september 15th, will I most likely not be considered for the program, even if I am enrolled in the Fall? I know it's cutting it, but I want to spend my time studying for the NLN, and if I score high on the NLN, With A's in Anatomy/Physiology/Microbiology, with NO GPA, and No Chem, will I not be considered? I really hope I get in, I've only been to Harper 2times.

If anyone have any suggestions, please let me know, I've asked people in admissions and they gave me a double answer, they say I may or may not get in, based on not having a GPA at the school.

Good luck girls! It takes focus to keep your grades and scores high enough to get a contingency offer. I am starting the program in the spring and had a contingency offer extended to me. I scored 96% on NLN and have a 3.9 gpa. Biggest tip for NLN test takers is calmmmm down! know how much time you are working with and never change an answer unless you are 100% sure
