Any body working for Res System?

U.S.A. Illinois

Hi All--

I really need some help, encouragement, advice! I applied to a job at OLR about 3 weeks ago. Interview went really well. In fact nurse manager said she was going to talk to HR about gettting me an offer letter. I already work for Res as a PCT. I sent the thank you letter, did the follow up, and still I have heard nothing. How long does the process take? What could be taking so long? Even if the answer is no, couldn't she have told me that by now? Any insight would be appreciated. I really want this job and I am starting to get nervous. Also, I recently seperated from my husaband and need to work as soon as I pass boards.

Help!

Hey there,

I used to work as an HR assistant in my prior life. Sometimes what one person tells you has to go through several other people, and that takes time, especially if HR still must do its part. This usually involves interviewing other candidates just because they must interview a certain number and they have to document things also. HR can be slow, and very bureacratic b/c of all the paper work, and they have to get salary data, and get stuff in writing, etc. If I were you, I'd remain optimistic but at the same time I'd give them a little nudge. have you tried calling the nurse manager back and asked her what your status is and the timeline? There's nothing wrong with doing that as long as you don't come off rude. I myself used to pressure them a little and say I had other job offers. This speeded it up a bit, but YMMV.

Definitely call them and talk to them. It shows you're still interested.

I just started my orientation this week for Res. I'm going to be working at RMC as a nurse extern/PCT. They were really quick with me. Just give them a call or e-mail to follow up.

Also, don't you have to wait until you pass boards to officially work as an RN? Maybe they're not rushing since they know you don't have your license ??? Just a thought...
