2012 Illinois Masonic Medical Center RN Residency Program

U.S.A. Illinois

Hello Fellow Student Nurses!

I was wondering if anyone has heard back from Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center (Chicago, IL) regarding acceptance into their RN Residency Program at this point in time? If you have, please share your experience here!

Thank you,

Illinois Student Nurse

The people I know who got interviews are both very good students, and they have jobs working at a hospital. I'm not sure how that factored into it, but I'm sure it did somehow. I'm sure that they have good recommendations since they work in a hospital. Their school is also well known and as far as I know they had a good, diverse experience in their different clinical rotations. I know someone else who applied and didn't get called for an interview, and the only difference is that she doesn't have a hospital job right now. They are all great candidates, so in the end I'm not sure what their recruiter sees in some but not others!

I have some experience in the medial field working at a Internal Medicine office for 8 years other than that i already passed my NCLEX in December.

Do you guys know if there are considering RNs with an ADN?

When i was there for the interview one person that was there had her ADN but she already worked at Advocate.

My friends will both graduate with a BSN. They haven't heard yet, but I'm excited to find out when people hear back about whether or not they got the job.

Thanks.... i already work @ Advocate and will be graduating in December.... ~fingers crossed~ Hopefully you get good news :)

MelNS2012 since you already work at Advocate have you ever come across anybody who has been in the Residency program?? How was their experience?

I'd like to know too. I'm thinking of applying when I graduate next year.

Has anybody that interviewed heard anything back from Advocate?? I'm nervously and anxiously waiting for that phone call i really hope i got in!!

Did anyone ever hear?

did anyone take the pep and got '[color=#7d7d3c]candidates must receive a passing score in order to continue in the selection process. at this time, you will not move forward in the selection process for positions that have patient contact. you will be eligible to re-take this assessment in 6 months.'[color=#7d7d3c]

is this a fail? :(

Yes, that is a fail.

Just as it says you will not be considered for any nursing position for 6 months. This means that your applications in the future will go nowhere. After 6 months, you can apply again, take the test again (if offered to you) and the same will apply - you have to pass it to be considered.

It's a stupid test. The only way to pass is to answer the questions as if you were an idiot. Remember this advice for next time.
