  1. If they are writhing in pain,squirming all over the bed, moaning and crying, I would hate to have them hold it for resps of 8 for a Hospice patient though.
  2. Most people writhing in pain are breathing more rapidly. It's not easy to have a hard and fast rule about an end of life issue.

    Not the lady I had on Saturday. Her resps were 8 and in extreme pain.
  4. Sometimes it hurts too much to breath and patients tend to hold their breath. The pain medicine could help them breath.
